France star vows not to leave Man United against Mourinho’s wish
Manchester United forward, Anthony Martial has decided against leaving the club.
The player reached the decision after the club’s boss, Jose Mourinho, told the board to sell him before the close of transfer window.
The Sun, UK, reports that the French forward said he is going nowhere against the manager’s wish.
Martial, who was widely expected to leave Old Trafford in the summer, has vowed to stay and fight for his place.
Martial’s relationship with Mourinho took a further hit on United’s pre-season tour after he returned home for the birth of his second child.
Former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss Mourinho was unhappy at how long it took Martial to return and the 22-year-old was fined two weeks’ wages.
Having being left out of Manchester United’s opening Premier League game of the season, Martial was handed a start against Brighton on Sunday as Alexis Sanchez was ruled out through injury.
But he failed to make an impact against the Seagulls and was hauled off in the second half.
In the wake of the shock 3-2 defeat, Mourinho reportedly issued a fresh plea to Ed Woodward for Martial to be sold before the European transfer window closes at the end of the month.
