Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri, began his stint in charge of the Blues with a 1-0 victory over Perth Glory on Monday.

Sarri replaced Antonio Conte few weeks ago and has gone about rebuilding the squad and instilling his style into the players.

Pedro’s fourth minute volley set the tone early on as Sarri’s side retained possession with midfield pioneers, Cesc Fabregas and new signing Jorginho stroking the ball around with ease.

Callum Hudson-Odoi was a real standout for the Blues with his pace until his half-time withdrawal.

A combination of strong Chelsea pressing and errant passing saw Tony Popovic’s side struggle to impose themselves against the Premier League giants.

Chelsea proved too strong for Perth Glory in their highly-anticipated showdown at Optus Stadium, running out 1-0 winners.

Perth Glory’s starting XI:

Reddy; Djulbic, Lowry, Grant; Franjic, Wilson, Kilkenny, Neville; Italiano, Ferreira, Keogh.

Chelsea’s starting XI:

Bulka; Zappacosta, Luiz, Ampadu, Alonso; Hudson-Odoi, Fabregas, Jorginho, Barkley, Pedro, Morata.
