Nollywood Actress, Mercy Aigbe Comes Under Attack Over Her Newly Acquired Mansion
That star actress, Mercy Aigbe is set to move into her newly acquired mansion is no longer news. This is because; the screen diva was on 19th June 2018 taken to her Instagram page to break the news. Since then, many of her fans, colleagues and well-wishers have been celebrating with her, while others are grumbling about the source of the abode.
Although, the pretty actress later shared some information on Instagram, to indicate how the entire plan started a few months ago, precisely when she celebrated her 40th birthday and a fan presented her a well-designed cake like a mansion.
The controversy that is silently making round in the industry now is that, barely one year after her marriage with a Lagos hotelier, Asiwaju Lanre Gentry hit the rock; the Edo State-born damsel bought the house which is quite interesting. The question that followed the announcement of the mansion is that, is the Yoruba movie industry that lucrative to an extent of buying a house worth millions of naira?
It is an obvious fact that the Yoruba movie industry produces low budget flicks and this is because of the poor income getting from each production after releasing it to market, as a result of piracy, which the movie marketers also see as avenue to owe and buy the right of any movie from the producer cheap.
Investigation revealed that no Yoruba movie actor get a million naira to appear in a movie, and the highest paid is N200,000, and this is for the top actors while other might even be ‘ rub my shoulder and I rub yours’ popularly known as (Aaro) in Yoruba language. It is from this purported N200,000 that the actors pay their bills like every other person in the country such as school fees, House rent for those who are yet to build, electricity fee, car maintenance fee, welfare and all that.
If the journey is this beautiful for our darling actress, it will be amazing if Mercy can actually teach her colleagues how to fish in other to reduce the poverty level in the industry especially among the stars who still make forceful livelihood.
