Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp has insisted that Mohamed Salah’s signing of new contract with the club has sent a message to the football world.

The Egyptian was the key man for Liverpool last season, scoring 44 goals in 52 appearances, on the way to the Champions League final.

He won both the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the Football Writers’ Association’s Footballer of the Year after a stunning campaign.

He has decided to stay with the club amid talks of dumping same for Real Madrid and Barcelona and has penned a new five-year deal worth £200,000 a week.

Klopp said Salah’s decision to stay with Liverpool showed that the club was going in the right direction and shows how much the club has grown.

He said, “I think this news can be seen for what it is; rewarding a person who performed and contributed greatly for the team and the club last season.

“It demonstrates two things very clearly also – his belief in Liverpool and our belief in him.

“We want world-class talent to see they have a home at Anfield where they can fulfill all their professional dreams and ambitions – we are working hard together to achieve this.”
