Bodies Of Okada Rider, Passenger Swept Away By Flood Recovered At UNN’s Gate In Nsukka (Photos)
The residents of the Nsukka area of Enugu State, have recovered the dead bodies of a commercial motorcyclist and his passenger who were swept away by flood.
A Facebook user identified as Eze Uchechukwu Oganiru, has taken to the social networking platform to share the heartbreaking story of how two persons were killed after being carried away by a raging flood on Wednesday at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), school gate.
According to reports, the victims were trying to cross the road before they were swept away by the surging flood into the deep gutter by the road side.
It was gatheted that a rescue mission was launched by the residents of the area as the corpses of the victims were later recovered.
Eze who shared photos of the victims wrote; “An Okada rider and a young man have just been swept away by the flood at UNN first gate… If you live around Nsukka and your father didn’t return tonight know he was the Okada rider.
“The young man he was carrying should be between the age of 24 to 29. It’s sad but before our eyes we witnessed tragedy.
“Befory own eyes, the shock wouldn’t even allow me record the moment. They tried crossing the road in the process and the flood was too much so it used force and dragged them into the widest gutter, people around said the end of that gutter is in another town, we doubt their survival because their heads were already hitting the gutter sides.”
