Tragedy Averted As Truck Conveying Engine Oil Spills Content On Busy Expressway (Photos)
Tragedy has been averted on a Nigerian highway after a truck conveying engine spilled its content right on the road.
A truck which was conveying some engine oil has had an accident, spilling its content on a busy expressway.
The scary incident which could have turned out to be a really serious disaster, occurred on Sunday on the Ogun Long Bridge in the outskirts of Lagos. Tragedy was averted when security officers arrived on time to bring coordination to the area.
Local reports show that before officials of Lagos Rapid Response Squad could get there, okada riders, in their tens had besieged the scene, scooping engine oil.
On sighting the police, some of them abandoned their bikes.
It took a combined efforts of Rapid Response Squad and LASEMA officials to tow away truck and clear the engine oil from the road.
Subsequently, Lagos State Fire Service was invited to make the spot danger free.
The five abandoned motor bikes were moved to RRS Headquarters in Alausa, Lagos.
