Portugal vs Spain: Cristiano Ronaldo nets hat-trick, Diego Costa brace, in sensational clash
CRISTIANO RONALDO scored a hat-trick as Spain and Portugal played out a World Cup classic.Portugal took an early lead through a penalty after just four minutes but were pegged back when Diego Costa bullied his way through the opposition defence.
Ronaldo then put his back in front just before half-time thanks to a calamitous error by David De Gea.
However, the game changed in a flash with Costa tapping home Sergio Busquets’ header for a second equaliser.
And Nacho, had given away the early penalty, made amends when he rifled a third in off the post for his first Spain goal.
But Ronaldo had the last laugh with a superb late free-kick.
