Pogba booed off the pitch by France fans after woeful shot against Italy (Video)
Manchester United star Paul Pogba was booed and jeered by France supporters during the side’s 3-1 victory over Italy ahead of the World Cup .Pogba is in danger of losing his place in Didier Deschamps’ starting XI for this summer’s tournament in Russia, but had the opportunity to impress on Friday evening.
However, the 25-year-old produced a lacklustre display in Nice while team-mates Samuel Umtiti, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele secured the win for Deschamps’ side.

Pogba has struggled for form at both club and international level since the turn of the year and one moment in the second-half summed up the midfielder’s frustrating season.
The ball broke to Pogba about 35 yards out from goal and the United man almost managed to put his shot out for a throw-in.
Not long after Pogba’s woeful effort, he was substituted and received a chorus of boos as he made his way off the field.
France fans also jeered Florian Thauvin as the Marseille winger replaced Kylian Mbappe in the 83rd minute.
France boss Deschamps defended Pogba’s display after the win and urged supporters to get behind the team ahead of the World Cup.
‘The whistles for Paul Pogba? It’s not just for him, at one point we kept the ball and they whistled too,’ he told TF1 .
‘The public also prefers to score five, six goals but it’s high level, there is a team in front of us. The players do the right thing.
‘Are they affected or not, I do not know… I will not remember that, but if it maybe could not be the case, it would be better.’
Corentin Tolisso admitted that fans’ treatment of Pogba and Thauvin ‘annoyed’ him.
He said: ‘Personally, when you witness this kind of whistling – and I also noticed some for Florian Thauvin – it’s exasperating, it annoys me.
‘We’re France, we are all France players, we’re all fighting for our country and for the fans there and we produced a very good performance.
‘Paul had a good game, he worked hard. It hurts because I wouldn’t want to be whistled, even if I went to Saint-Etienne as an ex-Lyon player.
‘Fans need to realise this. We’re all on the same boat, and we have to all stick together.’
