Finally! UNILAG breaks silence on viral report of its lecturer sexually harassing female students
The University of Lagos, UNILAG, has reacted to viral online report about one of its lecturers sexually harassing female students of the institution.
A female student of the school had yesterday, in a social media post, claimed that the lecturer has been in the act of molesting female students.
She further revealed that the said lecturer is a professor in the department of English language, in the Faculty of Arts.
Reacting to the trending report in a statement on Thursday, UNILAGās Communication Unit, Corporate Affairs Directorate, said, āThe attention of the University Management has been drawn to a news report trending on social media in respect of an alleged sexual harassment involving an alleged lecturer in the University of Lagos.
āThe Management has a zero tolerance for allegations pertaining to sexual impropriety, and has a well-established policy against such practices.
āWe wish to reassure all our stakeholders, students, parents, members of staff and the general public that Management will not treat this matter with levity.
āManagement will tackle the allegation with every sense of responsibility and seriousness that the matter deserves. The issue would be thoroughly investigated with transparency.
āManagement respectfully solicits information from members of the University community and pledges confidentiality and protection.ā
