Super Eagles captain, John Mikel Obi has disclosed how Gernot Rohr’s men will start first half against Croatia and others at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The former Chelsea star said that the Eagles will start the first half against each opponent strong not like the way they did during their pre-World Cup friendly games against Serbia, England and Czech Republic.

The 31-year-old, however, said Rohr’s side will not wait until second half before playing good game at the tournament.

“This is how we play. We don’t want to wait until the second half,” Mikel told ESPN.

“This is something we have spoken about and I’m sure we can do better in the first half of games. We hope and we believe we can start well in this tournament.

“Every game counts. We want to start the game on Saturday against Croatia in a positive way. If we get a good result, we can build on that and hopefully qualify from the group.”

Nigeria will face Croatia in their 2018 World Cup opener at the Kaliningrad Stadium on Saturday.

The Eagles are in Group D of this summers’ tournament alongside, Croatia, Iceland and Argentina.
