Reasons why you shouldn’t open GTBank account online using *737#
Many of you must have heard about or seen the *737# advert from Gurantee Trust Bank.
The fact is you will get you account number in less than 3 minutes, thinking you now have a fully functional bank account with GTB, NO! you aren’t even close. I will carefully explain why you shouldn’t do that below.
GTB will never let you know that you can’t withdraw from this account. But they will allow you to pay money into it.
Before you will be able to withdraw you will have to visit a GTBank with your NEPA bill, Passport photo, and valid ID. Which is exactly what is require to open a bank account offline.
My advice to Nigerian banks, GTB precisely is if you know opening and running account online isn’t possible don’t advertise it then.
And to Nigerians don’t dash GTB your money. Cus they won’t let you access your money till all those documents are provided.
