You have no business in seeking re-election- NAC National Chairman, Olapade Agoro tells Buhari
The National Chairman, National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro on Tuesday declared that, going by the worrisome state of poverty, security threats, recent killing of innocent Nigerians in a bank raid in Offa, Kwara state coupled with poor performance of the present administration, President Muhammadu Buhari, has no business in seeking re-election.
Agoro in a statement sent to Edujandon.com in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital while responding to yesterdayâs declaration of President Buhari to contest in 2019, maintained that if business of government is to better the lot of the people, people like Buhari must be told that he has no business to seek another mandate from Nigerians.
The NAC Chairman said, âIf truly the business of government is to better the lot of people and maximization of the nationâs resources, the type of blind minded persons like Muhammadu Buhari must be told in plain and direct language that he have no business to seek the mandate again.
âObviously, a blind minded person see nothing and feel nothing around himself in need of change for better life than been delighted with the noise of praise singers. This carefully summarize that of President Muhammadu Buhariâs himself for himself and for nobody.
Agoro who lamented that Nigeriaâs poverty level is becoming worrisome with various security threats across the country, wondered why the President would seek re-election for another term in office.
He said, âIt becomes apt for one to wonder why Buhari will still want to contest in 2019 considering the following scenario of woes all over the nation.
âNigeriaâs poverty level becoming worrisome, according to Ben Akabueze Director General Budget Office, Nigeriaâs highly embarrassing financial fiscal deficit budgets, in 2017 in particular, the nation spent N2.14 trillion Naira more than N2.12 trillion she earned i.e. Nigeria borrowing 50 percent of her earnings.
âAs at December 31 2017 Nigeriaâs debts to foreign creditors stood at US$ 18.91 billion out of which Federal government accounts for 78.27 percent.
âPower generation roving around 4000 MW, the same stage it was when Olusegun Obasanjo left office in 2007, rampageous killings, Boko Haram, kidnapping and the arranged freeing of Dapchi School girls but still holding Leah Suaribu in captivity, the killing in Offa Kwara State.
Agoro concluded that, âIf truly the business of governance is for the betterment of the people, the type of blind minded persons like Muhammadu Buhari have no business to seek the mandate again.â
