Why Buhari must sack some ministers now – APGA
The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), yesterday, called on President Muhammadu Buhari to urgently reshuffle his cabinet.
It said some members of the Buhari’s cabinet do not share same mindset with the president.
The National Chairman of the party, Dr. Victor Ike Oye, made this disclosure while briefing newsmen yesterday in Abuja at the end of the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
He also opined that President Buhari had the constitutional right to seek re-election in 2019, stressing that those opposing his declaration were wrong.
Oye added that it was now left for Nigerian electorate to decide if they wanted him to continue or not.
“People ask us if it was good or bad, we say it is not for us to say it is good or bad; it is for the citizens who have the power of voting to decide and they would be right in their choices,” Oye said.
While calling on Buhari to immediately reshuffle his cabinet, the APGA chieftain said the president meant well for Nigeria, insisting that he had the capacity to resolve many of the challenges facing the country.
According to him, “It was Buhari’s appointees that do not share his mindset; hence the need to purge them.”
He also said Buhari’s approach to anti-corruption war was being implemented at the expense of other pressing national issues; hence the need to fine-tune it.
