Former US Presidents, Clinton, Obama mourn Barbara Bush
Former US Presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama have reacted to the death of former First Lady of the United States of America, Barbara Bush,.Barbara Bush’s death was announced in a statement by her husband and former President, George Bush Snr.
According to the statement, she died in Houston, Texas after battling congestive heart disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Reacting to her death, Bill Clinton who defeated George H.W. Bush in the 1992 election, said Bush was a “remarkable woman” who was in support of her family and her country
In a statement, he wrote “Barbara Bush was a remarkable woman. She had grit & grace, brains & beauty. She was fierce & feisty in support of her family & friends, her country & her causes.
“She showed us what an honest, vibrant, full life looks like. Hillary and I mourn her passing and bless her memory.”
Similarly, former President Obama and former first lady, Michelle Obama also released a statement describing Bush as exemplary figure with American spirit.
The statement read “We’ll always be grateful to Mrs. Bush for the generosity she showed to us throughout our time in the White House, but we’re even more grateful for the way she lived her life – as a testament to the fact that public service is an important and noble calling; as an example of the humility and decency that reflects the very best of the American spirit.”
