Former Special Assistant to the immediate past President Jonathan on New Media,Reno Omokri , has said that former Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala should be Nigeria’s President.

The pastor and public analyst mentioned this when he paid a visit to the home of the former minister.

Reno Omokri posted photos from the visit via his Twitter handle.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria would soon get to a stage where gender bias would become a thing of the past, paving the way for a woman like Okonjo-Iweala to become the country’s president. He went further to mention that the visit afforded them both the opportunity to exchange copies of their books.

He described her as

“probably Nigeria’s best offering to the global effort to make this world a better place. We exchanged signed copies of each other’s books. I look forward to the day when we can forget about tribe, religion and gender to elect a President like NOI (Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala)

Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is considered as one of the brightest Nigerians alive and she was the Minister of Finance under the previous administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

Nigerians, in their reactions to Reno’s post, stated that they could not believe that the country can do away with the expertise of Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala

‘I can’t believe we let this woman go…. It’s like saying you let a Messi go and replace him with a Ahmed Musa. This is how the Okonjo-Iweala swap with Adeosun looks like’ the user said

Another user stated that the country has no place for bright people and top positions in the country are reserved for people he considers not-so-intelligent.

He said:

“Nigeria as presently constituted has no place for the brightest and the best like NOI.Elevation to the highest office in the land is the exclusive preserve of the dimwitted. How else can one explain Zik and Awo losing to Shagari and Osinbajo being Buhari’s assistant”
