VICE President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, expressed appreciation to God as he marked his 61st birthday anniversary, saying that he was gradually getting to the class of senior citizens.

This came as Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has written a letter to Prof. Osinbajo in commemoration of his 61st birthday.

Describing the nation’s number two citizen as someone who is committed to justice and fairness, Tinubu said Osinbajo has remained humble despite holding a high office.

Tinubu in a statement by Tunde Rahman, his spokesman, said: “This day presents an opportunity for us to thank God for the years He has given you and to pray that He provides you with many more birthdays.

“Your birthday also gives me the chance to tell you that the respect and affection I have for you as a brother and friend is deep and abiding. Your life has been one of commitment to the principles of justice, honesty, fairness and equality of all people under God.

Speaking while cutting a birthday cake surprisingly organised by the staff of his office, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Vice President Osinbajo prayed that the country will continue to be greater and experience joy and peace.

According to him, “I am grateful to God for preserving my life. It is just exciting to be one year older. I think we are gradually getting to that class who are called senior citizens and in some way it places greater responsibility.

“But I am immensely grateful to God and thank everyone for the surprise. I pray that our country will be greater and greater, that it will prosper and that we will experience true joy and true peace.”
