Governor of Bauchi state reacts to the tragic death of 23 students returning from an excursion
The governor of Bauchi state has reacted to the tragic death of about 23 students who were returning from an excursion journey from Kano state earlier today. The accident, which occurred at about 11.00 a.m. involved an 18- seater bus conveying the students on an excursion to a radio station.
Governor Mohammed A. Abubakar has released a statement on the accident. Read his statement below.

Today is a tragic one as we lost about 23 of our best young minds, students and teachers of Command Junior Secondary school, Misau who were returning from an excursion journey from Kano state.
May Allah Almighty grant them Jannatul Firdaus and comfort their families. It is not good for a society to bury its young, worse still, when they go in search of knowledge. I offer my condolences to all affected and the people of Bauchi State.

Earrlier today,a school bus carrying some students and academic staff From Government Day Secondary School in Misau, Bauchi state had an accident on their back from Kano state.
An eyewitness, Ibrahim Adamu, said the bus had a head-on- collision with an articulated vehicle carrying tomatoes while they were both trying to avoid a pot- hole at Samia Uku village.
“The bus was on high speed and same with the trailer before the driver of the bus lost control and collided with the truck that left 26 persons dead,” he said.
He said the dead and injured victims have been taken to Gaya General Hospital.
Ishiyaku Mustapha Bello Misau shared the sad news on facebook with pictures, he wrote;
It’s a great honor for the Inquisition. We are deeply devastated and traumatized by this monumental calamity passing away of about twenty Students and teachers of Government Day Secondary School Misau, Bauchi State (13/02/2018). Allahummagfir is my wife, she is pregnant and my daughter is sick, Zakariya is not good enough.
