Deji Tinubu is Dead
Deji Tinubu , Governor Akinwunmi Ambode’s Special Adviser on Sports is dead. The deceased reportedly died on Thursday during a novelty match in the Epe area of Lagos State, where Lagos State Executive members and other top government functionaries are hosted for a retreat.
Deji Tinubu, who was the former Chairman of Lagos State Sports Commission, slumped in the field and was confirmed dead at a hospital in Epe.
A source who witnessed the sad incident, said
He is 5th left in the photo above which was taken few minutes before he slumped. Deji Tinubu is remembered for pushing for the approval of five schools competitions by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, which held in November and December in Lagos.
Recall that Tinubu said the governor, who is an ardent supporter of grassroots sports, wants to afford the young athletes the opportunity to showcase their talents.
According to him, organising championships among the students in schools became necessary in order to intensify sporting activities in the state, adding that that is a rare chance for them to unearth their talents and be groomed to become famous in their chosen field in the nearest future.
