The former Manchester United man ended up with a brace in the game despite getting a kick in the face that made him bleed badly.

Ronaldo and Messi have been the epitome of World football for the last 10 years going head-to-head for every individual honours.

Many consider their rivalry as the greatest in the history of football and both divide opinions on who is the best in the World.

Both of them are tied on five ballon d’Or each and have broken several goal scoring records in the football world.

Ronaldo who won most individual awards in 2017 have struggled to replicate his last season performance that saw him lead Madrid to the League and Cup double.

Messi however has been in sublime form and Barcelona remain the only unbeaten team in the top five leagues in Europe.
