Another National BLACKOUT Looms As Explosion Hits Escravos Pipeline Again

The Escarvos to Lagos Pipeline has been ruptured by an explosion along Egbokodo-Omadino, in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation has said on Thursday. This is coming four days after the resumption of gas supply through the pipeline after the completion of repair work following a fire incident on it last week. The Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System supplies gas to power plants, in addition to feeding the West Africa Gas Pipeline System.

The latest incident came from a ruptured section of the facility along Egbokodo-Omadino in Warri south LGA in Delta state. This has, however, triggered concerns among oil industry officials that the country may be priming for renewed attacks on oil installations in the region.

Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Group Managing Director, Dr. Maikanti Baru, has directed that repair works should be executed immediately on the Escarvos to Lagos Pipeline.
