UNICAL Recalls University Professor, Cyril Ndifon Suspended Over Alleged Rape Of Student In 2015
Prof Ndifon who was the former Dean of the Faculty of Law was accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old student in 2015. The management of the University of Calabar has reinstated a lecturer, Prof Cyril Ndifon who was suspended for allegedly molesting a student.
Ndifon who was the former Dean of the Faculty of Law was accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old 400 level student in 2015.
According to CrossRiverWatch, the lecturer had tore the student’s scripts in the classroom and then invited her to his office where he forcibly had carnal knowledge of the student.
Following the allegation raised by the mother of the victim, Mrs. Irene Akpan against the Law lecturer, the University management in accordance with the institution’s rules suspended him on September 10, 2015 while the Police invited him for interrogations on the allegation.
Mrs Akpan in a letter sent to the University said the incident happened on August 29 between 3 and 5pm at Ndifon’s private office at the top floor of the faculty building.
She also alleged that the lecturer forcibly had sex with her daughter after fierce struggle.
Apart from this, there is another sexual allegations against Ndifon as CrossRiverWatch also reports that a senator in Cross River state accused the lecturer of asking his friend’s daughter to suck his genitals.
However, the lecturer was reported to have been reinstated by the University management as Law students were recently seen welcoming him back to the University. Cyril Ndifon is reportedly the first Law Professor from Cross River state.
