Ike Ekweremadu, the deputy Senate president of Nigeria, has insisted that the country, as currently constituted, is not working and needs urgent fixing.
Ekweremadu urged the different regions in the country to come together and agree on how to fix it.
He also came hard on President Muhammadu Buhari for refusing to implement the 2014 national conference report.
He also revealed that President Buhari was yet to transmit the report to the National Assembly for legislative actions months after the Senate requested for it.
He said he was not comfortable that Nigerians are now dangerously split along ethnic, religious, and sectional lines, as he added that the gap is widening on a daily basis.
“The trend of divisive verbal attacks traded by younger ones against one another’s ethnicities, sections, and religions on the social media on every matter do not also inspire hope of a brighter future.
