Berlin’s Best Boots Come To London
BERLIN-BASED footwear brand Aeydē has popped-up in Notting Hill’s Pippa Store from now until November 26. The brief UK bricks-and-mortar debut was not only designed to raise the brand’s profile during the festive shopping period, but to launch an exclusive boot style aptly called “London Edition”.
“The residency Pippa [Vosper]offers is a fantastic opportunity for a young brand like ourselves to grow our following in an important new market,” an excited Luisa Krogmann, co-founder and creative director, told Vogue. What sets Aeydē apart from the footwear pack? A firm direct to consumer policy, which is far from the norm and makes its elevated everyday shoe styles accessible and affordable.
“Our products are all hand-made in Italy and go directly from the factory to our warehouse, where they are shipped to our customers all over the world,” Krogmann elaborated. “There is no intermediary or wholesaler in-between, which enables us to offer the highest quality and best materials at a very fair price point.”
The “London Edition” boot comes in a “beautiful deep port red crocodile embossed leather from Italy. We were waiting for the right occasion to bring it into the collection,” she continued. “The Liam boot is one of our bestselling styles, so we felt it was the right shape to combine the elegant leather and refined shape. It gets its edge through the chunky heel and the tough welt.”
With only 50 in production – each numbered with the brand’s signature discreet stitch on the back – Krogmann makes a strong case for visiting Notting Hill this week.
