Chelsea star Victor Moses  on Wednesday evening displayed  some top form in his first training  with the Super Eagles  ahead of their Russia  2018 World Cup qualifier against  Zambia in Uyo on Saturday.

Moses, who arrived at the team’s camp on Wednesday morning, pulled  huge cheers from the over 1,000 fans  who watched the Eagles train at the  Godswill Akpabio  Stadium.

Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr had a full house for the training as he put the  squad through their paces. Turkey-based defender Elderson Echiejile, who reportedly sustained an ankle injury after colliding with China-based striker Odion Ighalo during the team’s first training on Tuesday,  trained with the rest of the team.

The Zambians are expected to arrive in Uyo on Thursday from their training camp in Ghana.

2012 African champions Zambia were dealt a huge  blow on Wednesday after star attacker  Edward Chilufya, who is Chipolopolo’s top scorer  this year with seven goals from eight matches,  was ruled out of the encounter due to injury.

But  Chipolopolo manager Wedson Nyirenda, who admitted the side would miss  the Platinum Stars player, who  sustained a knee injury in Zambia’s 3-1 defeat of Algeria last month, insisted that he had other plans for the crucial fixture against Nigeria.

“I think the replacements in Alex Ngo’nga and the other boys that we have brought into camp can do the job and do wonders for the team,” Nyirenda  was quoted by Lusaka Times as saying on Wednesday evening.

The former Zambia international added, “When Plan A does not go well, good coaches will always have Plan B in place and we had already prepared ourselves for any eventuality.”
