Black Axe Member Remanded in Prison for Murdering a Rival Cult Member Murder in Osogbo

A notorious cultist has been remanded in prison by a court in Osun state for the murder of a rival cultist.

A 27-year-old black Axe member, Adewunmi Adeyinka has been remanded in prison by an Oshogbo Magistrates’ Court on Monday for alleged murder.

The Magistrate, Mrs Aishat Olayade, ordered the remand of the accused in prison because of the magnitude of the alleged offence.

The Prosecutor, Insp. Fagboyinbo Abiodun had told the court that the accused committed the offence on Aug.5 at about 6:50 p.m at Old Garage Area in Osogbo.

Abiodun said that the accused, with others now at large, conspired together to kill one Bintu Anifiwose by shooting him with a gun without any just cause.

He said that the accused also belonged to an unlawful society called Black Axe confraternity.

The prosecutor said the offence contravened sections 324, 516, 64(a)(b) and 316 punishable under section 319(9) of the Criminal Code cap 34 vol.11 laws of Osun, 2003.

The accused is facing a four-count charge of conspiracy, belonging to unlawful society and murder.

The plea of the accused was not taken and the Magistrate adjourned the case till Nov. 6.
