Transgender Man Gives Birth To Baby Boy In US

Trystan Reese and Biff Chaplow, from Portland in the US, had their first biological child, Leo Murray Chaplow, on July 14, a year after having a heartbreaking miscarriage.

“I would say it’s unique. I understand that people are not used to two men having a biological child,” Reese told CNN.

“I think my body is awesome. I feel like it’s a gift to have been born with the body that I did, and I made the necessary changes so that I could keep living in it, both through hormones and through other body modifications.”

“The moment he was born was just like a pure moment of bliss, like the happiest moment of my life. To see the very beginning of Leo, of his life, was just like amazing,” Mr Chaplow added.

The couple said their friends and family have supported their decision throughout but they have received some backlash from people online.

Mr Reese was born a female, and despite starting hormone therapy, decided to keep his “original parts” in order to carry a child.

He added that he stopped taking testosterone in order to conceive healthily before falling pregnant with Leo.

Mr Reese said although he often hid his baby bump while in public, he never experienced transphobia by members of the public.
