Protesters Hit Abuja Streets After Flood Killed Man & His Two Children (Photos)
A Nigerian man, Mr. Kenneth Nwoga and his two children died during a flash flood that occurred in Lokogoma community in the Federal capital territory Abuja last Thursday, August 17th.
Angry residents of the community hit the streets to stage a peaceful protest over the lack of infrastructure and the death of the innocent children.
The heavy rainfall started on Wednesday night into Thursday morning. The man was taking his two children to school in his white SUV when the flood submerged the bridge he was driving on, drowning him and his children, edujandon.com learnt.
Eye witnesses say the man had been warned not to drive through the bridge due to the overflowing stream but he refused. Their corpse was later found in the middle of a stream and deposited at the Federal Medical Centre, Jabi.
The protesting residents are calling for a better drainage system in the area.
