Jenifa’s Dairy Is This Student’s Project Topic In OAU
A Student of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Olosunde Aderonke Oyindamola has written a research project on Funke Akindele’s English in Jenifa’s Diary.
The graduating student from the department of Linguistics at the Obafemi Awolowo University wrote her final year project on Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele’s ‘Jenifa’s Diary’.
The topic of the project submitted in June 2017 reads, ‘A linguistic analysis of Jenifa’s English in Jenifa’s Diary’. The student took it upon herself to critically look into the English Jenifa spoke in the comedy series.
Jenifa’s diary is a comedy movie series which is starred and produced by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele.
In the series, the actress played ther role of Jenifa, Jenifa in the series is a village girl, who came to Lagos for a green pastures.
Her grammatical blunders in English is what amuse the audience and the lessons learnt in the series.
