Court remands police officer who aided escape of child ritual killer in Rivers

Following the rearrest of ritual suspect, Maxwell Ifeanyi Dike , who escaped from the Police Station he was being detained for cutting off the vital parts of the eight-year-old girl, a Port Harcourt Magistrate court has remanded Sergeant JohnBosco Okoroeze in prison custody for negligence of duty which led to the escape of a ritual suspect.

Sergeant Johnbosco’s case file was also ordered to be handed over to the Department of Public Prosecution, Chief Magistrate, Andrew Jaja, who also remanded him in prison.

Recall that Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Mr Zaki Ahmed, had said the suspect fled while he was being interrogated and prepared to be moved to where he would be detained at the state’s Criminal Investigation Department, blaming it all on  on the negligence of the police officer who has been remanded in prison custody.
