Valverde: United Can Win UCL

Ernesto Valverde says Manchester United has all it takes to challenge for the Champions League next season.

United qualified for the Champions League after winning the Europa League final at the expense of Ajax.

They have added Lindelof and Lukaku to their ranks to boost their chances next season. And despite losing 1-0 to Barcelona in the ICC, Valverde believes they can challenge for the title.

“For me, they are contenders to win and they are going to be hard to beat in the Premier League and the Champions League,” he said.

“Obviously it hasn’t gone well for them lately, but I mean they won the Europa League.

“This year they are going to be in the Champions League. Their presence by itself is impressive. They impress. I think they are going to be a really hard team to beat.

“I wouldn’t want to face them in the Champions League.”
