Twitter Users Threaten to Sue Donald Trump for Blocking Them

A legal group called the Knight First Amendment Institute has threatened to sue Donald Trump for blocking those that have offended him on Twitter.

“ The President must not be allowed to banish views from public discourse simply because he finds them objectionable,” explained Knight Institute executive director Jameel Jaffer.

“Having opened this forum to all comers, the President can’t exclude people from it merely because he dislikes what they’re saying.”

The group, which operates out of Columbia University cites two specific Twitter users: Holly O’Reilly and Joseph Papp who were blocked by Trump’s account after mocking him.

The group argues that when Trump uses his accounts for official statements it becomes a case of suppressing speech
