I Go Dye To Tour Canada With ‘I Go Dye The Extendable”
The creative industry all over the world has never been a bed of roses for practitioners who constantly need to up their game to remain relevant.
So it is in Africa, a continent full of talents but only a few by a dint of handwork, resilience, perseverance, persistence and luck make all the difference.
The history of entertainment in Nigeria in the last 30 years surely is incomplete without the role of the comedy genre which has employed many, put millions in their pockets and created role models out of practitioners.
That is where our subject of discourse comes in, a man who has put Nigeria on the world map with his craft since age 13.
Born Francis Agoda, I Go Dye, as he is popularly known does not cease to spring up surprises by breaking new boundaries with his performances which has made him the toast of audiences who cut across different social and political classes.
Having toured the globe over the last fifteen years, the multiple award-winning comedian and United Ambassador is set to storm Canada this February with a tour expressly captioned; “IGoDYE The Extendable”.
According to the promoter, Plugged Nation, the event will kick off on the 17th in Edmonton before storming Calgary on the 18th then climax on February 19 with another performance in Toronto.
Ambassador I Go Dye who had performed before presidents, governors, captains of industry and millions of fans staged his own show, “I Go Dye: the Last Man Standing” last year Easter at the 02 Arena in London where he held fans spellbound for one hour forty five minutes, an event which is still the talk of the town till date in UK.
The born Delta comedian who doesn’t seem to slow down has travelled round the world with his brand of comedy, hence his truck-load of international and local awards the comedy industry can boast of, he has won Best African comedian award 3 times, best Nigeria comedian by Nigeria Entertainment Award New York, Most Outstanding Performing comedian in Nite of a Thousand Laughs for 10 years by Opa Williams, best Niger Delta Comedian etc
He became the most sought after and most traveled comedian in Africa. Francis Agoda is a United Nations Millennium Development Goal Ambassador. In 2016 I Go Dye was made United World Habitat Ambassador which he dedicated to Hillary Clinton.
