Samuel Eto Maybe Imprisoned for 10 Years in Spain Over Tax Evasion

​Cameroonian legend and Antalyaspor of Turkey player, Samuel Eto’o could be jailed for 10 years and fined €14m for tax evasion crimes committed while playing in Spain. A Spanish paper, El Pais, Eto’o defrauded the Spanish government of 3.5 million euros while playing for Barcelona between 2006 and 2009. It was gathered that the Cameroonian started two companies, Bulte in Spain and Tradesport in Hungary which he reportedly used to divert his image rights and avoid paying for tax . He also avoided paying tax from 1.5 million euros and 3 million euros a season he received from his sponsorship with sportswear giants, Puma. Spanish prosecutors are demanding Eto’o be fined around £12m (€14m), as well a 10 year imprisonment term.
