A mild drama played out in the Senate chamber on Wednesday afternoon when Senators elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, walked out of plenary following an argument that ensued when Senate President, Bukola Saraki read out a letter from Senator Yale Omogunwa of Ondo South informing his colleagues of his moves from PDP to APC.

There became much noise in the chamber following the All Progressives Congress, APC senators who rose to welcome Senator Omogunwa.

Meanwhile, the drama began when Senate Minority Leader raised a point of order to correct an insinuation in the defection letter which said that the party, PDP, is divide. At this point, more shouts followed from the APC quarters .

When Senator Dino Melaye equally tried to raise a point of order following the insinuation in the defection letter, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki ruled him out of order and this further heightened the argument.

Following agitation from both sides of the chamber, further arguments ensued and Senators of @OfficialPDPNig walked out of the chambers.

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege of Labour Party however, assumed the position of the Minority and proceedings continued.
