Sallah:Lagos State Promises Absolute Security At Prayer Grounds
The Lagos State Government on Thursday said residents should expect a heavy presence of security agents at praying grounds, amusement parks and malls during the Sallah celebration on Monday and Tuesday.
He said that was the resolution during the monthly security council meeting chaired by the governor and attended by heads of all security agencies in the state.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, said the council appraised the security strategies already put in place for the celebrations and members were satisfied with the arrangement put in place.
He said security agencies responded swiftly to douse the tension and that the mayhem was purely an issue of miscreants and criminal elements wanting to make life more difficult for the people.
The CP said the police also spoke with the leaders of the communities on the need to embrace peace and curb the excesses of the miscreants, while more security personnel had been deployed in the area to forestall a repeat.
