FIFA Rankings: Nigeria Drops To 66th Position
With the latest FIFA world ranking released Thursday December 3, 2015, the Super Eagles of Nigeria dropped seven places and now occupy the 66th position.
Having gathered 541 points Nigeria are now 14th best team in Africa, falling behind Cote d’Ivoire, Algeria, Ghana, Cape Verde, Tunisia, Senegal, Congo, Guinea, Egypt, Cameroon, Congo DR, Mali and Uganda.
African champions Côte d’Ivoire are ranked first in Africa with 950 points Algeria end 2015 as runners-up with 845 points. The Black Stars of Ghana are third on the continent with 778 points.
Red Devils Belgium claim the team of the year award for 2015.
It would be recalled that the Red Devils made it to the first position (their first-ever) on the Fifa /Coca-Cola World Rankings in November and their 3 – 1 victory over four-time world champion, Italy, ensured they end year 2015 as the number one team in the world.
On the other hand, Portugal lost a whole 145 points which condemned them to the 7th position.
