800,000 People Displaced In Nigeria – NEMA Discloses Shocking Figure
The number of internally displaced persons (IPDs) forced out of their homes by Boko Haram insurgency rises dramatically in Nigeria.
Only in the September UN report “Watchlist on Children and Armed Conflict” it was stated that 650,000 people had been displaced in the course of the conflict.
According to the information recently provided by the National Emergency management Agency(NEMA) the number of those displaced by insurgency and communal clashes hit 800,000.
It was made known at the stakeholders workshop on response to emergencies. The aim was to develop the reasonable mechanism of humanitarian response to the security challenges.
