CULTISM: Guess What Landed This 6 Teenagers In Court
6 teenagers have been charged before an Ikeja Magistrate Court in Lagos, for belonging to an unlawful society known as “AWAWA”.
The six teenagers identified as Kabiru Awolu(18) Oyerogba Pelumi(18) Quadri Adegbe(18) Sunday Oyedele(19) Moshood Otapo(19) and Esther Lawal(19).
The teenagers are also being accused by the police of having caused grievous harm to one Adepegbe Rasheed.
Count 6 reads: “Kabiru Awolu, Oyerogba Pelumi, Quadri Adegbe, Sunday Oyedele, Moshood Otapo, Esther Lawal (F), Okere Toyin (F) Olusola Abiodun and others at large on November 2, 2014 at about 1245hrs at Agege in Ikeja Magisterial District did belong and manage an unlawful society known, called and addressed as ‘AWAWA’.
Police prosecutor, Insp. Eranus Nnamonu, informed the court that the offence is contrary to and punishable under section 41 of the Criminal Law Cap 11 Vol. 44 Laws of Lagos State of Nigeria 2011.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Magistrate Komolafe granted the accused persons bail in the sum of N20,000.00 with one surety and adjourned till January 29, 2015.
