Victor Moses Joins Stoke City FC
Stoke City announced signing Victor Moses for a season-long loan from Chelsea FC, on August 16, 2014, Saturday.
According on the information published on the official website of the club, Moses becomes Stoke’s sixth signing since the end of 2013/14 English Premier League Season.
The team pursued a deal to sign Liverpool’s winger, Moroccan Oussama Assaidi, but then decided that the 23-year-old Nigerian star, who can play on both flanks and in a more central attacking role, would suit them.
The chief executive of Stoke City expressed confidence that this is a worthy signing:
“We are delighted to have secured the services of such an exciting young talent in Victor.
“He will certainly add to our attacking options and from talking to him it’s obvious that he’s really excited about the prospect of making an [EPL] impact.”
Nigerian-born Moses first represented England at the international level to the under-21s. Then he decided to join the Super Eagles.
Moses started his career in England at Crystal Palace. He further has struggled to make an impact at Stamford Bridge with Chelsea FC since moving from Wigan for £9 million ($15 million) in 2012 and spent last season on loan at Liverpool.
He started six Premier League games for Liverpool last term and featured in a further 13 from the bench, scoring his only goal on his debut against Swansea.
The attacking midfielder had appeared in all Nigeria’s matches at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
