Nigeria international, Ahmed Musa, repaid the faith shown by CSKA Moscow manager, Leonid Slutsky, to play him as a centre forward by scoring twice in Sunday’s Russia Premier League match against FC Rostov.
Musa’s goals helped the Moscow club to a 6-0 rout of FC Rostov inside the Arena Khimki.
The former Kano Pillars winger scored the first of his two goals in the 52nd minute after Bebras Natcho had given CSKA the lead just before the break.
The 21-year-old, for his first goal, struck the ball powerfully with his right foot from outside of the box to the bottom right corner of Stipe Pletikosa in goal for FC Rostov.
Seven minutes later, Musa made the scoreline 4-0 in favour of CSKA after Natcho got the third in the 54th minute.
Musa’s second goal of the day was from close range when he hit the ball down the centre of FC Rostov’s goal from Mario Fernandes’s cross.
Roman Eremenko and Natcho scored CSKA’s fifth and sixth goals to complete the humiliation of FC Rostov as Musa made way for Vitinho in between the goals.
The two strikes are the first goals by the Nigerian international for CSKA this season. He also has one assist.
