Man Kills, Roasts Mum In Anambra

A man simply identified as Ekene Ucheagwu has killed and roasted his 65 year old mother, Agnes Ucheagwu  in Ndikpa Awuka, a community in Orumba South local government area of Anambra state.
The Nation reports that the 29 year old Ekene was said to have killed and roasted her mother under a blunt conviction that his mother is a witch. Ekene, who was arrested by the Anambra state Police Command, said that their mother was the brain behind the backwardness in their immediate family as no one has made a remarkable move amongst his siblings.
According to the state’s  police spokesperson, DSP Uche Ezeh, the  suspect killed his mother after he was released on bail at the Umuchukwu police station for beating his mother black and blue. The Deputy Superintendent of Police however assured newsmen that necessary punishment will be melted on the accused.
The accused who complained that his mother’s witchcraft spirit was what made his elder brother to still be single at age 45, said:  “My mother was evil, I killed her because of her wickedness. This incident happened in May. She prevented good things coming to her children.“She was a witch, she put curses on us not to progress. Others were blindfolded because of our mother’s witchcraft. Because I was the only that knew her plans, she was always attacking me.“I killed her because she planned to kill me because I called her ‘Queen of the coast’ (her spiritual name). But I had to act fast and kill her first.“My mother was a witchcraft living in the sky, I killed her and burnt her body in the bush called Ogbukwu with fuel and firewood.”
It would be recalled that just recently, a man simply identified as Kola killed his wife just a day after she delivered their twins in Ekiti.
