House of Rep. Members Blames Mass Failure in WASSCE On Epileptic Power Supply
A member of the House of Representatives, Chief Yomi Ogunnusi, has identified the erratic power supply in the country as a major factor for the perennial students poor performance in public examinations.
It will be recalled that only 31.28percent of candidates that sat the 2014 West African Secondary School Certificate , WASSCE, had credits in five subjects, including English and Mathematics.
Ogunnusi, who represents Ifako-Ijiaye constituency in Lagos, made the observation while presenting scholarships to no fewer than 100 secondary school students in Ifako-Ijaiye, constituency, Lagos, at the weekend.
The lawmaker said unstable power supply in the country was disincentive to learning, adding that it had discouraged students from studying hard.
