13 Dead, 14 Hospitalized In Sokoto Auto Crash

A head-on сrash took lives of 13 in a road accident at Tudun-Dukiya village, Sokoto state, on 29 May.
Two vehicles, Peaugeot J-5 bus travelling from Jos to Illela collided head on with a Toyota Starlet car travelling from Illela to Sokoto, and instantly both of the cars caught fire.
The accident that have occurred at about 9 p.m. claimed lives of 13 people, including women and children, while 14 others were seriously injured. Some of the affected persons have first-degree burns.
The injured persons were rushed to the Illela General Hospital and to the Uthmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital, Sokoto.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Roads Safety Commission (FRSC) in Sokoto State, Dr Umar Gummi, confirmed the report. According to him, the deceased persons were burnt to ashes and their identities would be difficult to establish.
