Police Arrests 14 MASSOB Members in Enugu
The Police Command of Enugu State has confirmed the arrest of 14 persons suspected to be the members of the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB).
According to the statement, the suspects were apprehended by riot policemen on stop-and-search duty at Amechi Idodo, Enugu- Abakaliki Road, on April 16, 2014, Wednesday.
The police also added that the group was travelling in a Ford Transit bus registered as Ebonyi AKL 400 YU. Identity cards, MASSOB caps and banners with the inscription ‘Agbegbe Must Go’, were recovered from the suspects, who were being questioned by the police.
It would be recalled that MASSOB has intensified its activities over the last few month, claimed responsibility for the attack on.the Enugu Government House in March this year, as well as.several other unlawful acts.
