First Bank of Nigeria named among the "Best Emerging Banks In Africa"
Global Finance magazine has named the World’s Best Emerging
Markets Banks in Africa in an exclusive survey to be published in
the May 2014 issue. Global Finance editors—with input from
industry analysts, corporate executives and banking consultants—
selected the best emerging markets bank in the region and in 31
countries.
First Bank of Nigeria made the list. I was arguing with a friend
some weeks ago that First Bank is still the best. He believes its
GTB. Anyway, I congratulate the bank for this achievement.
Criteria for choosing the winners
– growth in assets
– profitability
– strategic relationships
– customer service
– competitive pricing
– innovative products.
The report covers best banks in Latin America, Central & Eastern
Europe, Asia-Pacific, the Middle East and Africa.
These banks are star performers under increasingly challenging
conditions, the banks that Global Finance is honoring may not be the
largest or oldest, but they are the best at targeting their products and
offerings to the specific markets they serve.”
