Publisher and new member of ADC, Dele Momodu, has dismissed claims by former Borno state governor, Ali Modu Sheriff, that Peter Obi is on his way to rejoin the PDP.

Sheriff who is a member of the ruling APC, was on Channels TV last night, where he stated that the ADC, which is the group the coalition group adopted recently, will soon collapse as one of its strongest members, Peter Obi, is on his way back to the PDP where he hopes to secure the party’s presidential ticket and run for president in 2027.

In his words;

“This ADC that you’re talking about, I can tell you for free, give them three months, it will die down because all of them are presidential materials and only one of them can be a candidate.

“Atiku has been the vice president of Nigeria. So for him, it is president or nothing. Peter Obi ran under the Labour Party. His ambition is to become President.

“Information available to me is that any moment from now, Obi would go back to the PDP and run as a presidential candidate under the PDP.”

Reacting via his Instagram handle, Momodu said he strongly doubts Sheriff’s claims, as he knows Peter Obi to be smart enough to know that PDP is a subsidiary of the APC.

Momodu’s post reads

‘’I DOUBT THIS STATEMENT… Though it is often said that “no politician can be trusted”, I know MR PETER OBI reasonably well and would credit him with some smartness. He must be aware that PDP, as it stands today, is a subsidiary of APC.

He is also aware that his erstwhile Abure-led Labor Party is already in cahoots with the hybrid and hydra-headed Enforcer-in-Chief of APC. He knows that he also cannot run as a near independent candidate by using the platform of just any other party outside the coalition.

His major challenge is how to risk losing the ADC Presidential primary and thus having to become a runningmate to WHOSOEVER wins, which his fastidious supporters may not wish to contemplate or accept. But there is no other option left for opposition leaders as we approach 2027.

This now is their first litmus test if they’re indeed TRUE DEMOCRATS. In a coalition, tickets cannot be DONATED. All must agree to a primary process and sign to support the eventual winner. This is the reality and pure WISDOM.”
