Nigerian actor Yul Edochie has initiated a significant discussion on social media, drawing attention to the paradox of many Nigerians being knowledgeable about biblical narratives while lacking awareness of their own ancestral backgrounds.
In a post on Facebook, Edochie conveyed his discontent, remarking:
“We’ve been brainwashed to know everything about Moses, Jacob, Isaac, and the people of Israel, yet we know nothing about our ancestors, their exploits, and the great people in our lineage.”
He underscored the necessity of recognizing one’s origins, concluding with the assertion:
“If you don’t know who you are and where you’re coming from, you’ll never know where you’re heading to.”
