BREAKING: DSS arrests NLC president Joe Ajaero
Operatives of the Department of the State Service (DSS) have arrested the President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Joe Ajaero.

According to Vanguard, Ajaero was arrested on Monday morning, September 9, 2024, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
Ajaero was about to board a flight to the United Kingdom, UK, for an official assignment when DSS picked him up.
Alhough details of the arrest and the reasons are still sketchy, sources said he has been handed over to the National Intelligence Agency, NIA.
According to sources, Ajaero was billed to attend the conference of Trade Union Congress, TUC, in the UK holding today.
On August 29, 2024, Ajaero, accompanied by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Femi Falana, Marshal Abubakar, Deji Adeyanju and a coalition of lawyers, stormed police headquarters in Abuja after being summoned in connection with allegations of terrorism financing, cybercrime, subversion, criminal conspiracy, and treasonable felony.
He was re-invited by the police after an initial invitation on September 5 but didn’t honour the invitation.
