A male student at Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) has been arrested for allegedly caught raping a male colleague.

According to unsubstantiated web rumors online, the 400-level male student subdued the victim before sexually assaulting him.
Abutu Sunday, the spokesperson for the Ekiti State Police Command, confirmed the arrest on Tuesday and stated that the suspect disputed the claims.
“Investigation has commenced, the suspect has been arrested and investigations have commenced because he is denying what the complainant is alleging, so we will see the result of the investigation,” the PPRO stated.
A video that went viral on Monday, June 17, showed the suspect being taken away by police while a crowd made up of students followed behind, demanding to deliver justice for the victim by themselves.
