Drama as kidnappers refuse to release businesswoman after collecting N5 million ransom demanded
The suspected kidnappers of Risikat Oladokun, a businesswoman from Ogun State, have reportedly refused to release her despite receiving a hefty ransom payment of N5 million.
The harrowing ordeal began on March 12, 2024, when armed assailants abducted Mrs. Oladokun in Awa Ijebu, Ijebu North Local Government Area, as she returned home from work.
Mrs. Oladokun’s husband, Mathew Oladokun, expressed deep anguish over the failure of law enforcement to secure his wife’s release, even after complying with the kidnappers’ demands.

According to him, the abductors have relentlessly demanded additional sums of money while refusing to provide any assurance of his wife’s safety or permitting contact with her.
Recounting the traumatic incident, Mr. Oladokun detailed the brazen attack, stating that a group of approximately five gunmen ambushed them as they arrived at their residence.
After subduing him and their children, the assailants seized Mrs. Oladokun and absconded with her.
Along with their captive, the criminals confiscated the family’s phones, cash, and ATM cards, subsequently draining their bank accounts through unauthorized withdrawals.
Despite promptly reporting the abduction to the police, Mr. Oladokun expressed dismay over what he perceives as a lack of substantive action by law enforcement agencies.
In Mrs. Oladokun’s husband words;
“The abductors have collected more than N5million from us as ransom to secure the release of my wife who was abducted over a month ago and they are still demanding for more money.”
“The abductors have refused to let us speak with her since she was abducted. We don’t know her current status, they are just asking us for more money
“We were just driving into our compound, when the gunmen struck, they were about five in number, and they attacked me first. Two of them with guns later locked me and our children in the house and took my wife away.
“They took both our phones, some cash and our ATM cards. They withdrew all the monies in our bank accounts and they have been calling the family for ransom
“Initially when they contacted us, they demanded for N15million, but we told them we don’t have such amount. We sent N1.2 million at first, later we sent N2.2 million and we have sent more, but they kept demanding more money and have refused to release her.”
